Help with air pressure

  • Hi,

I am really new to this and although I have had a weather station before I have never had a problem setting it up etc with others such as Weather Cloud. With AWEKAS there is a problem with my air pressure data. I received an email to say my air pressure data was deactivated and now it's locked (after I messed about with the air pressure settings) as it sending incorrect data. I know it is something to do with the settings (which I did quite a while ago now) but not sure how to correct it. The email said 'Please set the air pressure to sea level and compare it with the stations in the vicinity'. I am not sure what to do or how or where!!!. Do I put something in the correction value and if so what. I am totally confused and would really appreciate some help as I would like to get it right and also learn something. My elevation is 109m and I had the correction at 0 originally but that is obviously wrong.

  • If you open your station page at AWEKAS, there is a set of links at the bottom of the page. One of them is the link to the compare page, where you find the information.

Pressure is a difficult topic. There is the station pressure, which is measured by the sensor. Then there are several adjusted pressure values. You may want to google the abbrevations QFE, QNH, and QFF. QFE is the station pressure. QNH is calculated out of the station pressure and the altitude of the station. QFF is calculated out of the station pressure, the altitude of the station, and the actual temperature and humidity. AWEKAS wants QFF to be sent.
