Riffian, auf einer Höhenterrasse am Eingang des Passeiertales gelegen, befindet sich nur 5 km von der Kurstadt Meran entfernt deren mildes Klima lässt sich auch hier noch spüren, dank der Lage auf einer südost-exponierten Höhenterrasse auf der linken Seite des Tales. Die Gemeinde zählt ca.1350 Einwohner und liegt auf ca.520m Meereshöhe.
