    Hi!

While having a look to qualcheck...I get disappointed to see that I now have only one single neighbor station...

BUT then I saw the menu to select 10/20/50/100km, great !!!! many thanks !!! :hail::hail::hail:

    Hi,

It looks like the qualcheck area has been reduced (not sure when).

When using the link to compare when neighbor stations, I have now only 2 stations instead of 5 or 6 in the past.

I understand that bigger is the area, higher is the risk to make some poor comparison (it may depends on where you are, mountains etc...)

But on the other hand, having only 1 or 2 neighbor is also a pretty poor quality check.

Let's image one of those 2 neighbor has a poor quality, the average will loose a lot meaning.

I guess this is not an issue in Germany (when looking the map, Awekas seems used a lot here and I assume most station have several neighbor).

I'm in France, where the coverage is not too bad, but still not very large.

Would it be possible to offer larger neighborhood area?

    I have different possible suggestions:

    - Maybe it could just an optional parameter qualcheck url (like "&radius=60") so it can be used when you know what you do, but not offered by default.

I assume this could be the easiest solution (with less development), not touching the HMI.

    - It could be an added menu in qualcheck page to select different radius, for exemple 15-30-60-100km ?

In my opinion, this qualcheck function is a great function from Awekas: it's the only PWS network I know that provide such function.

It's a nice tool to diagnose and improve the quality of each station.

    What do you think ?

    Hello !

I'm building my own station and just setup an UV sensor (VEML6075).

The sensor seems to give a bit too high value, ex today max was 6, while I found 3 to 5 on a few website.

I want to add a calibration ratio to improve my measurement.

But here is the point, I found ~3.7 to 5 on website!!!, that would make a different ratio.

    Here are the examples:

    https://www.wofrance.fr/France/Toulouse/IndexUV.htm (give 5 for today)

    http://sunburnmap.com/ (give 4 for today)

temis.nl/uvradiation/nrt/uvindex.php gives 3.7 for today at my location.

How would you proceed ? is there a know good reference site for this?

    Best regards,

    Hello !
I am not the weewx programmer, Thomas Keffer is the programmer.
You may contact him on the google groups for weewx development here: https://groups.google.com/foru…#!forum/weewx-development

Thank you for the specification...I still have some questions : the spec you send is for weatherlink but I think awekas has some flexibilities with that.

For instance, If I look at the date format, the spec shows DD.MM.YYYY while the example link below give 04/24/13 :grinning_squinting_face:

Regarding pressure variation, the spec says " Change in air pressure in the last 6 hours – text version according to Weather Link specification" which looks to be a string like "Rising Rapidly".
On the other hand, the wview templates give only '+' or '-'.

I am still fighting a little bit with weewx to output data as close as possible to the spec, but here are a few questions:

    - Does pressure variation accepts '+' or '-' instead of weather link string (like wview template) ?
    - Can you accept 'mbar' as metric pressure unit instead of hpa ?
    - Can you accept km/h instead of km/hr for wind speed ?
    - Can you accept "inHg" instead of "in" for barometer ?
    - Does awekas handle empty field or "N/A" in case of missing sensor ?

If not, I will check how I can do, but not sure I can deal with it.

    Best regards,

    Hello,

I would like to improve my template, is there a
specification somewhere of the "awekas 1.5" template? (this is what I
found in wview templates I used).
    I found a specification here:
    http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/AWEKAS

can you confirm it is ok ?

Moreover, I would like to confirm if awekas handle slightly different unit format.

I mean for instance, can it handle:
    - "°C" instead of "C" (same with °F)
    - "inHg" instead of "in" for barometer
    - wind "km/h" instead of "km/hr".
    - "mbar" instead of "hPa" for barometer

Well, I am in the "desires" section of the forum, so I guess this is made to write what feature I would appreciate to have.
I guess you dont share my desire, so as I said, it could be offered as an option, so no change for people who dont like this idea.

Dont take it badly, but your answer sounds to much like what I hear so often at work : "tell me what you need, I will explain you how to get rid of it"

One reason for having a personnal weather station is fun, and part of my fun is to compare data with other place in my area (for accuracy checking or simply to enhance weather discussion at the coffee machine :grinning_squinting_face: ).

I talked about Metar but it may be other network, I have no opinion in favor or against any networks.

No problem if it is not feasible or to complicated or whatever, this is only a suggestion.

    Hello,

I opened the topic in the french forum, but maybe it can be easier in english.

One of my station is in a awekas "blackspot": I mean there is only 1 station in the neighbourhood for the quality checking.

In the mean time, there is also a couple of (small) airport nearby (less than 50km), reporting on the metar network.

I was wondering if it could be possible to add (as an option) those data to quality check system.

Quality check is one of the most interesting function on awekas (in my opinion) and a pretty unique feature.

(Of course I understand that temperature, rain or whatever may vary even if distance is lower than 50km but these check are still very interesting).

I added the topic in the english forum, this may make communication easier (and without google translate):
AWEKAS - add non-personnal station for qualcheck improvement in awekas "blackspot"

    Bonjour,

    Cordialement,
