Stationsweb 3.3 is Here

After a public test phase, Stationsweb 3.3 is now officially released. Thank you to everyone who tested the preview versions and submitted feedback — your reports were invaluable in making this release as stable and polished as possible.

The web version and the Progressive Web App (PWA) update automatically — no action is required on your part. For users of the iOS and Android apps, the update is now rolling out through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Updates will be distributed automatically depending on your device settings, or you can update manually from your respective store.

What’s New in 3.3

Overhauled Home Page Layout

The most visible change in 3.3 is the improved home page. Widgets are now automatically organized into groups, making it much easier to find related measurements at a glance. Temperature readings, precipitation data, atmospheric readings, and more are each collected into their own clearly labelled sections.

The new grouped layout is enabled by default and is recommended for most users. It requires no setup, adapts automatically to the sensors your station provides, and even reorders groups by relevance — for example, the precipitation group moves higher on rainy days. New widgets added in future versions will slot in automatically, so there is nothing to maintain.

For station operators who want more control, the new custom layout mode allows full manual control over group creation, group ordering, widget assignment, and widget ordering within groups. The configuration can be found under Station Operator Settings > Home / Widgets.

Want the Old Layout Back?

If you prefer the previous layout style without visual grouping, this is easy to restore. In the station operator settings under Home / Widgets, set the layout mode to Ungrouped. This mode behaves identically to the layout before the 3.3 update — widgets are automatically ordered by relevance, but without the group borders and section headers. It’s the familiar look with all the performance improvements underneath.

Improved Rain Data Presentation

The precipitation widget has been refined to show more detailed and easier-to-read rain data. A dedicated dialog now displays precipitation information across multiple time spans in a clear, structured format.

The side menu has been overhauled to behave more naturally across different screen sizes. On larger displays, the menu can now be pinned as a permanent sidebar more easily — the toggle for this is accessible directly within the menu itself, so there is no need to dig through settings. On smaller screens and mobile devices, it continues to work as a sliding drawer that opens and closes with a tap.
