What is the difference between the AWEKAS data-account, shop account and forum account?
In the context of user accounts there are three services: AWEKAS data account (core services), AWEKAS Forum and AWEKAS Shop.
These three systems are standalone and seperate systems. You can not use the account of one for the other. In other words: If you have never used the AWEKAS Shop you can not use your AWEKAS data-account username and password for login - you have to create a new user in the shop.
Given you have already used a service before you can always reset the password with the “reset password”, “forgot password”, or similar buttons. Bear in mind that when you reset the password for your AWEKAS data-account you also have to update the password in your weather station, otherwise the data-transmission will stop working.
The AWEKAS data-account is used for:
- trasmitting data
- changing weather station settings (https://www.awekas.at/en/benutzer.php)
- logging in as the weather station operator at Stationsweb and changing Stationsweb settings (station operator settings)
The AWEKAS Forum account is used for:
- login in the AWEKAS Forum
- writing posts etc. in the AWEKAS Forum
The AWEKAS Shop account is used for:
- creating orders in the AWEKAS Shop

Weather Station
How/where should I place my weather station?
For accurate measurements, it’s important to install each sensor in an optimal location:
Temperature & Humidity Sensor:
- Mount in a shaded, well-ventilated area (never in direct sunlight).
- Install 1.5–2 meters above natural grass (not above concrete or near buildings).
- Use a radiation shield (passive or active) for best accuracy.
Rain Gauge:
- Place level and free from obstructions.
- Ensure no nearby objects (buildings, trees) block rainfall.
- Position at least twice the distance from the nearest obstruction as the height of that obstruction.
Wind Sensor (Anemometer & Wind Vane):
- Mount as high and unobstructed as possible (ideally 10 meters above ground).
- Roof mounting is acceptable if the sensor is 2 meters above the roof peak.
- Avoid turbulence from chimneys, walls, or trees.
- Ensure the wind vane is oriented correctly. Align the “North” marking of the sensor with true north (not necessarily magnetic north).
General Tips:
- Ensure the station is stable, protected from vibrations, and securely mounted.
- Avoid placing sensors near heat sources (chimneys, air conditioning exhausts).
- Check local weather guidelines (e.g., WMO recommendations) for optimal accuracy.
How do I calibrate the air pressure?
Most weather stations measure relative (sea-level) air pressure, but the sensor itself records absolute pressure. To correct and calibrate your station:
1. Find your exact elevation above sea level
- Use GPS, a smartphone map app, or an online elevation service.
- Even small errors (±5–10 meters) can affect pressure accuracy.
2. Enter your elevation in the station or software
- Most stations automatically calculate the correct sea-level pressure after you set your altitude.
- Look for settings such as “Elevation,” “Altitude,” or “Barometer Offset.”
3. Compare with a trusted reference
- Use a nearby official weather station (airport, national weather service).
- Use the AWEKAS Map if the station density in your area is high enough.
- Make sure you are comparing sea-level pressure values, not absolute pressure.
4. Apply manual corrections if needed
- Some software or hardware allows a direct offset adjustment.
- Adjust in small steps (0.1–0.3 hPa) until your reading matches the reference.
5. Allow time to stabilize
- Sensors may need several hours after calibration to settle.
Tip: Do not calibrate during rapidly changing weather conditions. Pressure should be steady when adjusting.

I have just orderend and payed my AWEKAS Stationsweb license. Why can’t I use it?
Purchases have to be reviewed by us. This takes some time. Licenses purchased in the AWEKAS Shop are usually activated within one business day.
My username/password are always wrong in the shop. Why?
The AWEKAS Shop account is different from the AWEKAS data-acount (the one you use to configure your weather station and send data). Therefore, you may have a different username and password combination set there.
See question: “What is the difference between the AWEKAS data-account, shop account and forum account?” for further help.
Data transmission
I have data transmission isses. What can I do?
First run a transmission check by entering the AWEKAS ID with issues and opening the link:
If we receive data but the password is incorrect follow the steps from the question “During the transmission test it says “password wrong”. What can I do?”.
If we do not receive any data follow these steps:
- Check if your weather station’s outdoor unit has power (check batteries, power connection, etc.)
- Check if your weather station’s indoor unit or receiver has power
- Check if the connection of the weather station’s outdoor to the indoor unit is up. (See weather station manual)
- Check if the weather station’s indoor unit, receiver, etc. is connected to the internet. Check the the WiFi, WiFi-Password, etc.
- Try restarting your weather station by powering it off and on, removing and reinserting the batteries, or unplugging and plugging back in the power supply.
- Check if the weather station is set up correctly. Depending on the type you can find information on how to do this in the AWEKAS Forum knowledge base or weather station manual.
AWEKAS shows outdated or no data for my weather station. What can I do?
The data transmission is likely interrupted. Follow the steps from question “I have data transmission isses. What can I do?” for a guide on how to resolve this.
During the transmission test it says “password wrong”. What can I do?
Take these step:
- Log into your AWEKAS Data Account via https://www.awekas.at/de/benutzer.php — note: this is not the shop account or the forum account. See question: “What is the difference between the AWEKAS data-account, shop account and forum account?” for details.
- Once logged in successfully, use that username and password exactly in your weather station’s software settings. Pay attention to case-sensitivity (uppercase vs lowercase).
- If the test still reports “password wrong”, consider that some weather stations may struggle with special characters (ä, ö, ü, “!”, “@”, etc.). Try changing the password to one without special characters.
- Some weather station manufacturers use different labels for “username” and “password” (e.g., “Station ID”, “Station key”, etc.). But for AWEKAS you always use your data account’s username and password.
Forgot your password?
- Go to https://www.awekas.at/de/pwr.php to initiate a reset.
- Follow the steps to reset the password.
- After changing the password, make sure to also update it in your weather station’s software and then run the transfer test again.
Enter the AWEKAS ID with issues and open the link for a transmission test:
My sensor or station has been locked. What can I do?
First, make sure that we receive data from your weather station and the password is set correctly by running the transmission test with the effected AWEKAS ID:
Depending on the nature of the issue check the following steps:
- Check if a weather station’s or sensor placement causes wrong or unplausible measurement. Referr to question “How/where should I place my weather station?”.
- Power cycle the station.
- Check for hardware faults or broken sensors.
- Check your weather station’s settings. Look out for missing/wrong elevation settings, value offsets, etc.
- Calibrate and clean sensors if necessary.
- When you have air pressure issues: Referr to question “How do I calibrate the air pressure?”
Why is my station not showing up on the map?
The data transmission is likely interrupted. Follow the steps from question “I have data transmission isses. What can I do?” for a guide on how to resolve this.
