Anemometer replaced. Have turned back on in sensor settings.

Computer lost USB connection to weather station console at 00:16 and data flatlined. Reset station and rebooted computer to resolve USB connection issues.

Modified and slightly lowered the wind instrument mast in readiness for the forecasted storm on Sunday night, Monday morning where winds between 60-80mph are expected. Possible disruption to service may occur over the next 48 hours.

After not sharing data here for 11 months due to purchasing new equipment, re-siting and extensive testing against local Met Office and Airport weather stations, Cheriton Weather is back. Let's see how long it takes before the locking starts again.

WEATHER STATION TEMPORARILY OFFLINE DUE TO HARDWARE FAILURE

- Met Office Weather Warning today.
- Yellow alert for Rain .
- Further rain is likely on Tuesday morning across southeast England and parts of East Anglia, some of which could be heavy. Given that the ground is saturated in places, following recent heavy rainfall, there is a risk of localised surface water flooding as well as possible river flooding - most likely towards Sussex and Hampshire. The public should be aware that this could prolong travel problems in some areas.
- The rain should gradually ease from the northwest during Tuesday morning, and the warning now elapses at midday.

- Amber/Yellow alert for Rain .
- Rain, heavy at times will persist well into Monday, before gradually easing away westwards during the afternoon. Further thundery downpours are possible in the southeast later.
- The public should be prepared for surface water flooding and localised river flooding, as well as very difficult driving conditions.
- This warning has been upgraded to amber on the basis of latest computer model output and observations, with some adjustments also to the area covered by the yellow warning.
