Welcome to Castleford Weather you can find us on twitter @weathercas; The anemometer is situated on top of a 7 meter pole, the rain gauge is not on the pole but on top of the garage roof about 1.9 meters above ground, the thermo sensor is 1.8 meters on the side of the garage in the shade. I seperated the intruments to get better readings and this as been successful, I extended the cable from the anemometer using a 10 meter ADSL RJ11 extension cable which joins up in a ip 55 junction box, which is fixed to the mast half way up; Ive had no problems with singnal and its ran for over 4 years, the only part ive replaced is the transmitter, and ive recently updated from laptop to Raspberry Pi.
