AWEKAS is pleased to announce its first brand new feature for 2008. You can now use Google Earth to view all weather data from AWEKAS stations. To do this, you will need Google Earth which is a free program and can be downloaded from Google, along with the AWEKAS plug-in. With Google Earth you can explore the Earth in 2D/3D and now have AWEKAS weather data displayed. Each active station is shown as a small dot on the map which can be zoomed or scrolled at your pleasure. Now you can virtually fly between the AWEKAS stations like a cloud. To add the AWEKAS data into Google Earth, you only have to load the following AWEKAS.kmz data file into Google Earth.

English Metric scale (°C, hPa, km/h)
English American scale (°F, inHg, mph)
German
French
Dutch
Italian

The station data is updated every 10 minutes and only displayed in Google Earth if the data is less than 2 hours old.

For AWEKAS members, it is now possible to set your geographical position very exact. Use direct readings from Google Earth, login and set them in your AWEKAS user settings. (Seconds can be set with decimals – for example N47° 52' 18.51'' / E14° 7' 48.34).

Hello Othi;

could you please tell me how to download AWEKAS into Google Earth and how to activate it? I already have Google Earth, and I tried to download AWEKAS into the file, but have not had any success at getting it to work in Google Earth.

Click on links in first post. If KMZ file not direct open Google earth. open it with winzip and copy awekas.kml file to your desktop. now double click the awekas.kml file and awekas will be included in google earth Wink
