AWEKAS pulls all data from weather stations which make a special file available on their homepages. Because the individual stations make the data available on their own homepages it isn’t necessary to set up an FTP account or something similar. The data file is a text or CSV file (depending on the software used) with around 50 bytes! The limited size means that the traffic is kept extremely low. This file will be read in cycle and saved in a database. When the web site is called up the page will be generated out of the database meaning that the graphic is constructed in real time.
